Polymer Project
You and a partner are going to porduce a fabulous wiki page featuring either a natural or synthetic polymers. Natural polymers are essential to life and since the 1830's synthetic polymers have become key substances in our way of life.

Your Wiki NEEDS to be completed by Thursday 5/15....Peer viewing on Friday 5/16.

As you prepare your wiki page, be sure to include the following:
  • Techinical and common name (if one exists) of your polymer
  • a video of you constucting the monomer unit using the chemsite program
  • The method of linking the monomers (addition or condensation) and explain (example of reaction which produces it)
  • Whether it is a natural or syntheitic polymer.
  • If synthetic, is it biodegradeable, recyclable or renewable (if this information is available)
  • If synthetic, is it thermoset, thermoplastic, fiber or elastomer.
  • The physical and chemical characteristics of the polymer.
  • Whether cross-linkage occurs and if so, the significance of it.
  • The natural role(s) and practical uses of the polymer, if natural.
  • The practical and industrial uses of the polymer, if synthetic.
Be sure the your page includes graaphics, molecular models built on chemsite, and links to other pertinent sites.
